Map Printer
This tool gives you a clean, full-size interactive map and one prominent Print button. Pan and zoom until the map shows exactly the area you want, then click Print this map β your browser's print dialog takes over, where you can send it to a printer or choose Save as PDF.
Be honest about what this is: it prints the map exactly as you see it on screen using your browser's built-in printing. Print quality depends on your zoom level (zoom in for detail), and the tool does not add scale bars, north arrows, legends or custom titles. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap's volunteer contributors.
- Pan and zoom the map below until it shows exactly the area you want.
- Click βPrint this mapβ (or press Ctrl/Cmd + P).
- In the print dialog, choose βSave as PDFβ or your printer. Landscape orientation usually looks best.
This tool prints exactly what is visible on the map using your browserβs print function. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap; printing quality depends on your current zoom level.
How to use this tool
Drag to pan and use the zoom controls (or scroll) until the map shows exactly the region you want to print.
Press the Print button β or Ctrl+P / Cmd+P β to open your browser's print dialog.
Select your printer or 'Save as PDF' as the destination. Landscape orientation usually suits maps best.
What people use this tool for
Frame a project area and print it as a one-page visual aid for a site meeting or classroom discussion.
Capture the current extent of a site as a PDF to attach to reports or permit paperwork.
Print a zoomed-out region on the largest paper your printer supports for quick reference on a noticeboard.
How it's calculated
The tool renders a standard Leaflet map with OpenStreetMap raster tiles and calls window.print(), handing control to the browser's print pipeline. No image is generated server-side; what you see on screen is what prints. Tile resolution follows the current zoom level, and standard OpenStreetMap tile-usage etiquette applies.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add a title, legend or scale bar to the print?
No. This tool prints the map exactly as displayed, without cartographic extras. For publication-quality maps with legends and scale bars, use QGIS or a similar desktop GIS.
Why does the printed map look blurry?
The tiles are screen-resolution images, so print sharpness depends on zoom level and paper size. Zoom in closer before printing, or print at a smaller page size for crisper results.
Can I print a very large area in high detail?
Only as well as your screen and printer allow. There is no high-resolution export or tiled poster printing β the output matches the on-screen view.
Is it free to print OpenStreetMap tiles?
Yes for reasonable personal use under the tile usage policy, with attribution to OpenStreetMap contributors. Heavy or commercial bulk printing should use your own tile server.
